Nice apartment in Kolymbari, an area we love in Crete. Our host was lovely and caring. We just found this apartment a bit too expensive considering the space and facilities (and the fact that some of the appliances were not working well). We found that other places in similar locations in Crete had a much better value for money.

The Melimilon villa is absolutely magnificent, very well located on the slope of the hill, in the old village, close to shops (5 minutes on foot) and very, very quiet... only the crickets disturb the tranquility of the place. The welcome was exceptional, with a drink (raki and fresh fruit) with our host and his son acting as an English interpreter. The advice on places to see and restaurants was very precise and relevant. The villa is located in the village of Kolymvari halfway between Chania and the beautiful beaches of the west coast (we went to Balos beach... go early in the morning, leave before 9 am to be there before 10 am on site... 8 km of dirt road at 15-20 km/h before a 30-minute walk!!). We spent 4 days there and would have liked to stay longer. Highly recommend this amazing place, perfect for a couple and 1 child (or 2 if the 2nd can fit in a crib).
