From the golden coastline of the Algarve to the terraced vineyards of the Douro Valley, Portugal unfolds contrasting landscapes less than three hours from Paris. Historic towns, Atlantic beaches, the mountains of Madeira: our villas and apartments open up the country at whatever pace suits you.
What you'll do while you're there
In the Faro district, you can go from beach to beach along the Algarve coast, from Lagos to Tavira, between ochre cliffs and the lagoons of the Ria Formosa. In Lisbon, hop aboard tram 28 up to the Alfama, visit the Belém Tower and taste pastéis de nata fresh from the oven.
Further north, Porto reveals itself along the quays of the Ribeira, with a crossing of the Dom Luís I Bridge and a port tasting on the Vila Nova de Gaia bank. Madeira offers the levadas, those trails running alongside the irrigation channels, and the gardens of Funchal. Braga and Guimarães add a wonderful dive into medieval and Baroque Portugal.
Where to set down your bags
The Faro district has our largest number of listings, ideal for a beach stay with the family, with your own kitchen and the space of a whole house. Lisbon and the Porto district suit city getaways, between historic quarters and good restaurants.
For nature, Madeira appeals to walkers, while the Aveiro and Leiria districts blend Atlantic beaches with authentic villages. In the north, Braga and Viana do Castelo reveal a more low-key, green Portugal close to the Minho, perfect for taking your time far from the crowds.
