Réunion blends an active volcano, cirques listed by UNESCO and the lagoons of the west coast. In just a few hours by road, you go from the beaches of Boucan Canot to the high-altitude trails of Mafate. Our houses, villas and apartments give you a base to explore the island at your own pace.
Hiking, diving and reaching for altitude
The Piton de la Fournaise is climbed from the Pas de Bellecombe: book on low-crowd days and set off early, before the midday clouds. The cirques of Cilaos, Salazie and Mafate offer trails for all levels, from the Trou de Fer to villages reachable only on foot.
On the sea side, the Ermitage lagoon and Saint-Leu lend themselves to snorkelling and surfing. Don't miss the open-air market in Saint-Paul on Friday and Saturday, and the road to the volcano across the Plaine des Sables. Between June and September, humpback whales cruise along the west coast.
Where to set down your bags
Saint-Pierre, in the south, is packed with restaurants and nightlife, with quick access to the volcano and to Cilaos. Saint-Paul, on the west coast, puts the lagoons and beaches within easy reach, handy for a beach stay with the family.
Saint-Denis, the capital in the north, charms with its Creole architecture and its shops. Saint-Benoît, in the east, opens onto a greener, rainier Réunion, close to the Niagara waterfall and the plantations. A whole-property rental lets you cook up market produce and come home whenever you like after a long hike.
