Martinique unrolls its pale sandy beaches in the south, its rainforests in the north and the silhouette of Mount Pelée looming over Saint-Pierre. Between colourful markets, rum distilleries and hikes, the island has enough to fill each day. Our apartments, studios, houses and villas let you set down your bags at your own pace.
Exploring the island from north to south
In the south, head for Les Salines in Sainte-Anne, one of the island's most beautiful beaches, or set sail from Le Marin, the sailing capital, to reach the fonds blancs of Le François. Walking enthusiasts climb Mount Pelée from Le Morne-Rouge and follow the Trace des Jésuites through the rainforest.
In the north, Saint-Pierre tells the story of the 1902 eruption through its ruins and its museum. Don't miss the Depaz distillery and the Gorges de la Falaise. In Fort-de-France, the covered market, the Schœlcher Library and Fort Saint-Louis are worth a morning. Renting a whole place with a kitchen also lets you cook accras and fish from the market between excursions.
Where to set down your bags
Le Marin appeals to sailors and to families close to the southern beaches, with harbours, coves and seafront restaurants. Fort-de-France, lively and well connected, suits those who want shops, culture and city life.
La Trinité, on the Atlantic coast, opens onto the Caravelle peninsula and its trails facing the ocean, wilder and windier. Saint-Pierre, at the foot of Pelée, offers a quiet, historic setting, ideal for roaming towards the north. Depending on what you're after, our villas and apartments give you the space and independence for a stay with family or friends.
