Romantic Bungalow in Deshaies + Pool
Deshaies, Basse-Terre
On the leeward coast of Basse-Terre, Deshaies lines up sheltered coves, a tropical garden and a small fishing port. It's the ideal starting point to explore the beaches of northwestern Guadeloupe and the trails of the rainforest, between calm swims and shaded hikes.
Swim, hike and dive
Lay your towel down on Grande Anse beach, a long stretch of golden sand fringed with sea grapes, then head to the Anse de la Perle for some quiet snorkeling. The Deshaies Botanical Garden, laid out on the former property of Coluche, can be walked in a morning between koi carp ponds and a lorikeet aviary.
Nature lovers head to the Cousteau Reserve, off Malendure, to dive or kayak around the Pigeon islets. The town, with its colorful boats and its grilled-fish tables, lends itself to peaceful ends of the day.
Where to stay in Deshaies
Our apartments and houses are spread between the town of Deshaies and the verdant heights overlooking the bay. Near the center, you're within walking distance of the restaurants and the market; on the hills, you gain the sea view and the quiet.
A whole rental changes everything for a stay with family or friends: your own kitchen to prepare a fish bought on the way back from the beach, a terrace for the evenings, and the pace you choose. Villa, bungalow or apartment, each offers its own space a few minutes from the coves.

Frequently asked questions
How many rentals do you offer in Deshaies and of what types?
We offer 33 rentals in Deshaies, broken down as follows: 19 apartments, 8 houses, 3 bungalows. You’ll find apartments for two, family houses, and more spacious accommodations that can host up to 12 people. All are rented as entire homes, with a separate kitchen for preparing fish brought back from the village.
Are the accommodations in Deshaies well rated?
Yes. Across 23 rentals already rated by our travelers, the average score reaches 4.7 out of 5. This feedback reflects the comfort and location of the accommodations, between the village and the hills overlooking the bay. Be sure to check the detailed reviews on each listing before booking.
How do you get to Deshaies from the airport?
Pointe-à-Pitre - Le Raizet Airport is about 60 km away, a little over an hour's drive along the leeward coast of Basse-Terre. A rental car is really recommended: the beaches, the Botanical Garden, and the Cousteau Reserve are far away and poorly served by public transportation.
What's the best time to visit Deshaies?
The dry season, known locally as 'carême,' runs from December to April: clear skies and calm seas at Anse de la Perle, ideal for swimming and snorkeling. From June to November, the rainy season and hurricane risk dominate, but the vegetation is lush and there are fewer crowds.
Can I get a sea view or a pool in Deshaies?
Yes. Among our accommodations, 16 offer a sea view, often from the hills overlooking the bay, and 6 have a pool. In addition, 29 rentals are air-conditioned, a real comfort during warm nights in the wet season. Filter according to your priorities right from the search.
Is it better to stay in the village or up in the hills?
In the village, you're within walking distance of grilled fish restaurants, the market, and the small harbor: convenient without a car in the evening. Up in the green hills, you get peace and quiet along with a view of the bay, just a few minutes' drive from Grande Anse and the coves.
