Start with the Adán Martín auditorium, the white silhouette designed by Calatrava that dominates the seafront, then stroll through García Sanabria park and its flower-filled gardens. The Nuestra Señora de África market brims with tropical fruit, fish and Canarian cheeses: everything you need to cook at your own pace in a whole property, kitchen included.
A few kilometres away, Las Teresitas beach rolls out its golden sand imported from the Sahara, protected by a breakwater. Nature lovers climb up toward the Anaga massif, its laurel-forest trails and its perched hamlets. The carnival, in February, transforms the city for several days.
