Lovely cottage but we missed the garden

Positive: The location in the countryside yet close to a very pretty château (Beauregard, worth a visit!), close to Chambord, and with a starred restaurant at the end of the road (Granica). The house has lots of charm and ample space inside. Thanks to the owners who did their best to help us cope with the heatwave. Very welcoming. Negative: We did not appreciate that the listing title said “house with garden”… there was no garden at all. The house is an annex of the manor house occupied by the owners, at their gate and opening onto the gravel courtyard. I would never have had breakfast outside under their windows even if there had been a table and chairs. No privacy either when sleeping with the window open (overlooked by the big house) or when going out into the courtyard, and there was no cool spot a garden (in the plant sense) would have provided. The listing should be renamed “Lovely cottage on a courtyard”.
