Sainte-Anne, Grande-Terre
On the south coast of Grande-Terre, Sainte-Anne lines up beaches protected by the coral reef and a lively town centre around its church and market. It's one of Guadeloupe's most popular seaside spots, halfway between lazing about and discovery.
Swimming, walking and tasting Grande-Terre
The town beach and above all the Caravelle beach, with its shallow lagoon, are perfect for family swims and paddleboarding. Further east, the Pointe des Châteaux offers a short hike to a panorama over the Atlantic and the islet of Le Gosier in the distance.
In the morning, the Sainte-Anne market overflows with spices, fruit and rhums arrangés to take home. Then head off to taste bokits and grilled fish at the seaside lolos. From Sainte-Anne, the Pointe de la Grande Vigie and the wild beaches of northern Grande-Terre are within driving distance.
Where to stay
Our apartments, houses and villas are spread between the town of Sainte-Anne, handy for reaching the market and shops on foot, and the residential neighbourhoods near Caravelle, quieter and often facing the sea.
Renting a whole home changes the rhythm of your stay: a kitchen of your own to cook produce from the market, space for a family or a group of friends, and the freedom to set off early to explore the coast. Some places have a garden or a terrace, ideal during the hot hours.
