The Amalfi Coast can be travelled by bus or by boat between Positano and Ravello, with a swim break at Maiori. Further south, the Cilento offers quieter beaches around Marina di Camerota and the trails of the National Park. Having your own kitchen means you can cook the San Marzano tomatoes and mozzarella di bufala bought at the market.

Naples suits those who love urban bustle, museums and an easy departure toward Pompeii. Sorrento, perched over the bay, serves as a base camp for Capri and the Amalfi Coast, as do Maiori and its beaches.
Salerno combines a lively centre with access to the Cilento.
